Summer

This has been a good summer so far. We've been to the pool a few times and had a good fourth of July. I am so glad we stayed home. We grilled out and the kids did some snakes, sparklers and poppers. What we didn't plan on which was great, was our neighborhood going CRAZY with the fireworks. In Matt's words, it was like being in a war zone. Literally EVERY house was shooting up the big works and it was great. It was loud and showy and fun. We live on the edge of town so we could look back at the horizon and see the tons of fireworks going off in town. It was pretty cool. The kids were up late but it was fun. We could feel the strapnel even.

While not terrribly active, we have had a lot of social commitments this summer. I have been busy with work and I had to go to Chicago for a week in June. It was so weird being without my little ones. I am not looking forward to doing that again but I do consider that a break from home even if I was working. I am so glad to have my flexible job so that I can spend most of the day with my kids. As Audrey grows I am reminded of Sadie and Wyatt at her age. It seems like just yesterday and now they are so big. I think this picture showcases their personalities perfectly.

The Best Whining Ever!

Matt told me this after I returned home from Target one evening. I had left Sadie and Wyatt at home and taken Audrey with me. Apparently, Wyatt was not pleased so he continued to cry and whine after I left. Matt asked him what was wrong. Wyatt, through his whining, replied, "Mommy's too pretty". Is that not the best?

Back to Pre-Baby...

weight that is! I've done it. Finally. I've been pregnant OR nursing concurrently since March of 2003 just up until October of 2007 and I haven't even been given a chance to shed my last few pounds of baby weight. And let me assure you, there will be no more babies. Matt has that taken care of. So unless hell freezes over, I am done. I loved every minute of it, except when Sadie constricted my kidney and it was the size of a grapefruit and when I had mastitis 3 times and my 3 hernias and...well except all that. I do look at pregnant women and get a tinge of jealously. I was a good incubator. The babies were all perfect and still are. However the body they left is not so perfect. I will NEVER get back my pre-baby body totally but I have half the battle won with my last few pounds gone. Yes, I am proud...and happy to be back to me somewhat.

Lost pics...

I am sooo mad because I lost all my recent photos to a corrupt CF card. Our trip to Atlanta (entailing pics at the aquarium), our farm trip and Matt's first turkey of the season pictures were on there. I am getting over it but it still just ticks me off!

On the upside, I got a new car! Not that we needed one but it sure is nice to treat yourself in a big way once in a while. It is a boulder gray metallic hummer H3. It rides great and looks cool. Better than the wagon, ha! I liked the wagon but we felt like an upgrade, what can I say, we are suckers for a good deal.

I am also happy that is FINALLY warming up. We just had snow flurries last week and now it is in the 70's. Tomorrow is yard work and I'll be glad to get that done.

Ohhhh, Atlanta!!!!

So we are back! We spent 5 days with the "cousins" and Sadie keeps crying and asking to go back. We had tons of fun. We went to the Atlanta aquarium (at $27.00 a head- crazy), took the kids bowling, went shopping at the Mall of Georgia and hung out with the family. All in all, a great time. The kids did great on the flight. I'll be putting pics up as soon as I get them edited.

Getting Ready

Tonight and tomorrow we are gearing up for Atlanta. We fly out Wednesday afternoon. We are really going so we can get the crappy renters out of our South Carolina house but we are making a trip of it with the whole family and are staying at Matt's sister's house to visit them and the in-laws. It's going to be fun! The will get to play with their cousins and it's going to be wild and of course the weather is calling for rain 3 out of the 5 days we will be there.

Sadie and Wyatt love going to the airport. They have flown several times and they are usually really good. But this time there are no layovers so it should be a pretty uneventful trip, except for Hartsfield International Airport, which I can say from lots of experience, SUCKS!

I'm sure I'll have plenty of pics to post when we return. I think I am serious about this blog thing, so be on the look out for updates!

Date with the Wind

We tried this last year to no avail, we absolutely could not get a kite in the air. So this year, we bought a really cool airplane kite in hopes of better luck. This was still a no go. So, we picked some super cheap kites at the toy store to try and see if it was the kite or the fliers. Finally some luck! The kids were able to fly their own kites and it was really neat to watch. They felt like such hot stuff and it shows!
